As I was reflecting on what God had done for us during the Easter season. One of the songs, “Above All,” spoke to me very profoundly as I was leading worship at the church. Tears started to roll down when we began to sing this line “Like a rose trampled on the ground, you took the fall and thought of me, above all.” This reminded me of a Big God who created the whole world, and everything in it thought of me and gave His life for me.
We all like to feel valued and appreciated by the people around us. This song reminded me that God deeply cares about us more than anyone else in this world. It can be difficult to comprehend how a God so big still cares about me, thinks about me and wants to be involved in all the details of my life. This Easter has been extra emotional for me because this is the first Easter without my mom and dad. Because of that, it made me appreciate more what Jesus has done for us. Easter is about the resurrection and the hope of eternal life because of what Jesus has done.
I believe that all who believed in Jesus and died will be resurrected just as He did. Even though I feel hurt that I can’t see my parents here on earth, I have this hope that someday I will see them in heaven. My friend recently shared that her friend passed away, and she wasn’t sure if he believed in Jesus before he died. She has tried sharing about Christ with him in the past, and he was a bit hesitant to believe in the truth of the Gospel. My friend is now hurting without knowing if her friend went to heaven or not.
After I heard about this news and the hope I have for my parents, I felt the urge to share more about the good news with people who haven’t heard about it. Even though Easter and what Jesus did gives hope to a lot of people, many still haven’t heard the Gospel. God has placed us who believe on this earth to share the Gospel so everyone can experience the gift we have in Jesus. According to Mark 16:15, “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
According to John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life” (New American Standard Bible).
